The legal bit

Privacy Policy

Effective May 2026

This is the part where most websites bury you in legal jargon. We'll keep it short, because honestly, EggAddicts barely collects anything.

What we collect

Email addresses, if you sign up for our newsletter. We use these to send you emails. That's it.

Aggregate analytics via Google Analytics 4. We see things like "25 people visited the boiled egg timer today," what tools they used, and which choices they made (e.g. which doneness people pick most often). GA4 uses cookies and assigns each visitor an anonymous ID so it can count returning visits and aggregate behavior. We have IP anonymization turned on, and we don't link this data to your name, email, or any other personal identifier.

Affiliate clicks. When you click an Amazon link from our site, Amazon sees that you came from us (so we get credit if you buy). We don't see your purchase or any of your data — Amazon does. We just get a small commission.

What we do NOT collect

Your name, address, payment info, location, browsing history outside our site, social media data, or anything else creepy. We have no log-in system, no user accounts, nothing personal.

What we do with what we collect

Newsletter emails get sent to you via Beehiiv (our newsletter provider). They process your email so emails actually arrive in your inbox. We do not sell, share, or rent your email address to anyone, ever.

Analytics data goes to Google Analytics 4 and stays there. We use it in aggregate (e.g. "the sous-vide tool gets 3x the traffic of the meringue tool") to decide what to build next. We do not combine it with any other dataset.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of first-party cookies (named things like _ga and _ga_*) to count and group visits. These cookies do not identify you personally and do not follow you to other websites. They expire after 2 years.

You can opt out by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser, by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using an ad blocker — most of which block GA by default.

If you sign up for our newsletter, your email is stored in Beehiiv — that's functional, not tracking.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime — every email has an unsubscribe link. To request deletion of your email from our records entirely, email us. We'll do it within a few days.

If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR/CCPA: right to access your data, correct it, delete it, and object to its use. Email us and we'll honor any of these requests.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Effective" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes get announced in the newsletter.
