ADrop the egg in a glass of cool water

Use a tall glass, fill with about 6 inches of cool water, and gently lower the egg in. Watch what happens. Then click the position below that matches.

  1. 1. Smell it. Crack it into a separate bowl. A bad egg announces itself loudly.
  2. 2. Look at the white. Fresh: tight and gel-like around the yolk. Old: watery and spread out.
  3. 3. Look at the yolk. Fresh: bulges high. Old: flattens and tears easily.
